Coming in the next release

Changes merged into master since 2026.08.24, checked October 30, 2026. They are not released yet, and details can still change.

  • 75 commits on master since 2026.08.24.
  • The interface in 13 languages (de-DE, en-US, es-ES, fr-FR, it-IT, ja-JP, ko-KR, nl-NL, pt-BR, ru-RU, tr-TR, zh-CN, zh-TW).
  • 23 more removable apps, mostly OEM software: Business Center, MSICenter, OMENCommand Center, Acer Care Center S, Acer Registration, ASUSPCAssistant, Glidex, Screen Pad Master…
  • New tweak: -DisableChromeAI
  • Removed: -DisableDragTray
  • Parameters going away: -DisableDragTray, -DisableSearchHighlights, -DisableSearchHistory
  • The launcher checks the download. Get.ps1 will verify the release archive against a published SHA-256 hash before running it (#831).
  • Settings and logs move to %LOCALAPPDATA% instead of the script folder (#829), so with the one-liner they will no longer sit in the temp folder.
  • The OneDrive removal bug is fixed by deferring WinGet uninstalls of apps installed per user (#802), and Windows 10's 0x80070002 uninstall error is ignored (#835).
  • Unsupported tweaks are skipped on Windows builds that cannot use them (#832), and booleans in config files are read correctly (#833).
  • The “Disable Drag Tray” tweak is removed (#850), along with the unused -DisableSearchHistory and -DisableSearchHighlights switches (#800). Scripts that pass those switches will need updating.
  • New: turn off Google Chrome's AI features (#763), remove the Windows App (#863), and 22 more OEM apps, mostly Samsung, plus Acer, ASUS, MSI, HP OMEN, Lenovo and Surface (#864).

To try it before release, the one-liner accepts -Dev, which runs master instead of the latest release. It is meant for testing.

The -RemoveCommApps and -RemoveW11Outlook command-line parameters for uninstalling a few specific apps have been removed with this release. If you previously relied on these parameters, please see this wiki page for alternative methods of removing these apps.

This release brings some long-requested features alongside a host of fixes. For starters, Win11Debloat can now automatically detect previously applied tweaks for the logged-in user. And reverting them is as simple as unchecking the corresponding setting.

The script now also fully supports running under the SYSTEM account, which has also made it possible to apply changes to users who are still logged in. This makes it far easier to integrate Win11Debloat into your automations and deployments.

What's Changed

  • Fix lock screen spotlight option being disabled when disabling the start recommended section by @Raphire in #619
  • Fix log message formatting by @Raphire

What's Changed in the Last Release

Please be advised that several undocumented parameters in Win11Debloat are now deprecated and will be removed in the next release. Click here for more information.
This release changes how the script saves your last used settings, this means settings saved in the old format will no longer work with this release. You can use the MigrateSavedSettings.ps1 script provided with this release to migrate your old settings file if desired.

This release includes some significant improvements under the hood, in addition to the changes listed below.

What's Changed

  • Add app removal of specific apps via command-line by @Raphire in #402
  • Add default and last used config files by @Raphire & @soulcloude00 in #402
  • Add all common folders back under 'This PC' in File Explorer by @Raphire in #407

<details>

<summary>Click here for more details</summary>

You can now remove specific apps via the command-line by launching the script with the -RemoveApps parameter, and specifying the app(s) in the -Apps parameter as a comma separated list. Example: -RemoveApps -Apps "Microsoft.OneDrive,Microsoft.Copilot"

If you only use the -RemoveApps parameter then it will, like before, remove the default selection of apps as defined in the Appslist.txt file.

Until now the script's defaults were hardcoded in the script. With this release the script now comes with a DefaultSettings.json file allowing you to easily see (and change) what the script does by default. In addition, after running Default Mode, Custom Mode or App Removal Mode your settings will now be saved to LastUsedSettings.json which follows the same JSON format as the DefaultSettings.json file.

Please refer to the wiki for more information.

Questions

How do I update Win11Debloat?

If you use the one-liner, there is nothing to update: it downloads the latest release every time. If you use a downloaded copy, download the new release and extract it. Your settings in the old folder's Config folder can be copied across.

How are Win11Debloat versions numbered?

By release date: year, month, day. 2026.08.24 was released on 24 August 2026. A suffix like -R2 marks a second release on the same day.

Can I use an older release?

Yes. Download its Source code (zip) from the release's GitHub page and run Run.bat. The one-liner always runs the latest release, so use the ZIP if you need a specific version, for example in a managed rollout.
