Get the classic right-click menu back

Windows 11's right-click menu hides most options behind Show more options. Win11Debloat's -RevertContextMenu brings back the full Windows 10 style menu straight away. It is a single, well-known registry change for your account, and it is easy to undo.

Short answer

How do I get the old right-click menu in Windows 11?

  • Win11Debloat: -RevertContextMenu, or tick Use classic Windows 10 context menu style under System in the wizard.
  • Takes effect after Explorer restarts or you sign out.
  • Undo: untick it, or import its undo file, which deletes the key again.
  • Not in Default mode. It is a personal preference.

The command

PowerShell
& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm "https://debloat.raphi.re/"))) -RevertContextMenu -Silent

How it works

The tweak creates one key for your account, with an empty default value:

Registry
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32
(Default) = ""

That class ID belongs to Windows 11's new context menu. An empty registration for your account makes File Explorer fall back to the classic menu. The undo file deletes the {86ca1aa0-…} key, and the Windows 11 menu returns.

Use classic Windows 10 context menu style

Windows 11 21H2+Sysprep

This will restore the classic Windows 10 style context menu, which is normally hidden behind the 'Show more options' entry in the new Windows 11 context menu.

Tested alone on Windows 11 25H2 (build 26200.9711): changed 2 registry values.

Importing the undo file put both back exactly as before.

Our test

On Windows 11 25H2, the tweak created the key and value, which did not exist before. Importing the undo file removed both again, leaving the registry exactly as it was. It needs Windows 11, and it only affects the account you apply it to. For another account, choose it under What user do you want to apply changes to? on the wizard's first screen. Use -Sysprep for accounts created later.

Questions

Is the classic context menu tweak safe?

Yes. It only changes which menu File Explorer shows. Nothing else depends on it, and undoing it is instant.

Can I do it without Win11Debloat?

Yes, with the same key: reg add "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32" /f /ve, then restart Explorer. To undo, delete the {86ca1aa0-…} key.

Will a Windows update undo it?

Not usually, because it is a per-user setting. If the new menu comes back after a big update, apply it again.
