Win11Debloat on the command line

Everything the Win11Debloat wizard does can also be done with one PowerShell command, without clicking anything. Pick what you want below and copy the command. Under the builder is every one of the 117 parameters in release 2026.08.24, checked against its source code, including three that the official docs leave out.

Short answer

What is the Win11Debloat command?

  • Open the wizard: & ([scriptblock]::Create((irm "https://debloat.raphi.re/")))
  • Default mode, no questions: add -RunDefaults -Silent to the end.
  • Just some tweaks: add their switches instead, for example -DisableCopilot -DisableBing -Silent.
  • See first, change nothing: add -WhatIf.

How the command works

The command has two parts. The first downloads and starts Win11Debloat. The rest are switches that tell it what to do.

PowerShell
& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm "https://debloat.raphi.re/"))) -DisableCopilot -DisableBing -Silent
  • irm "https://debloat.raphi.re/" downloads the small launcher script from the project's GitHub release. What it fetches, step by step.
  • [scriptblock]::Create(…) turns that text into a script, and & runs it. Writing it this way, rather than irm … | iex, is what lets you pass switches to it.
  • The launcher passes every switch on to Win11Debloat.ps1, which it starts in a new window with administrator rights. All 117 parameters work through the one-liner.

With a downloaded copy, run .\Win11Debloat.ps1 with the same switches, in PowerShell as administrator, from the extracted folder.

From Command Prompt (cmd)

Win11Debloat is a PowerShell script, but you can start it from Command Prompt or a .bat file by handing the same one-liner to PowerShell. Put switches after it, inside the double quotes:

Command Prompt
powershell -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Command "& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm 'https://debloat.raphi.re/'))) -RunDefaults -Silent"

We ran this form from cmd.exe on Windows Server 2025 with -ShowKnownFileExt -Silent: the launcher downloaded the release, Win11Debloat made its registry backup, applied the tweak, restarted Explorer and logged every step, with no window to click through.

Some common jobs, run this way:

  • Remove bloatware with Default mode's app list only: -RemoveApps -Silent
  • Uninstall Edge: -RemoveApps -Apps "Microsoft.Edge" -Silent (read removing Edge first)
  • Remove Widgets: -DisableWidgets -Silent
  • Classic context menu: -RevertContextMenu -Silent
  • Copilot and Recall off: -DisableCopilot -DisableRecall -Silent

Every tweak is also a plain registry change. To make one by hand, open Registry Editor (Win + R, regedit) and set the values shown on its tweak page, or double-click the tweak's .reg file from the release's Regfiles folder.

Rules worth knowing

  • Any switch skips the wizard. Win11Debloat only opens the wizard when you give it no switches, or only switches like -Silent.
  • Switches add up. -RunDefaults -DisableTelemetry -TaskbarAlignLeft applies Default mode plus the extra tweak. Listing a default tweak again does no harm.
  • Plain switches apply straight away. Only Default mode, saved settings and config files list the changes first and wait: Press enter to execute the script or press CTRL+C to quit... Without -Silent, it also waits for a key press at the end.
  • -User, -Sysprep and -AppRemovalTarget always run in text mode. They open the text menu if you give them nothing else to do.
  • Switches are not checked against your Windows build. Default mode, saved settings, config files and the wizard skip tweaks meant for other builds. A switch you type yourself is applied anyway in 2026.08.24, even if it was made for another Windows version. The next release adds the check (#832). Until then, leave out switches whose Needs column does not match your Windows.
  • It refuses to run as SYSTEM without -User or -Sysprep, which matters when you deploy it with Intune or another management tool: Win11Debloat is running as the SYSTEM account. Use the '-User' or '-Sysprep' parameter to target a specific user.

All parameters

Checked against Win11Debloat.ps1 and the scripts it loads in release 2026.08.24. The official wiki also describes newer, unreleased options. Only the ones below work with the current release.

What to run

-RunDefaults
Applies Default mode: the 16 default tweaks and the 84 default apps. Without -Silent it lists the changes and asks before applying them.
-RunDefaultsLite
Default mode without removing any apps. Only the tweaks.
-RunSavedSettings
Repeats your last run, from Config\LastUsedSettings.json. With the one-liner that file is in %TEMP%\Win11Debloat\Config. If it is missing: Unable to find LastUsedSettings.json file, no changes were made.
-Config path
Applies a config file you exported from the wizard (☰ → Export config).
-CLI
Opens the text menu instead of the wizard: (1) Default mode, (2) App removal mode, (3) your last used settings, if any.

Who it changes

-User username
Applies the changes to another account instead of yours. The account must have signed in at least once, so its profile exists. Runs in text mode.
-Sysprep
Applies the changes to the default user profile, so only accounts created afterwards get them. Windows 11 only. Runs in text mode.
-AppRemovalTarget AllUsers | CurrentUser | username
Whose apps are removed. Without it, apps are removed for all users and from the Windows image. Runs in text mode.

How it runs

-Silent
No questions at all. Skips the confirmation, the extra “Are you sure?” for the Store and Windows Terminal, the restore-point failure dialog (it continues) and the final key press.
-CreateRestorePoint
Makes a system restore point first. Turns on System Protection for drive C: if it is off. Skipped when a restore point from the last 24 hours exists.
-SkipRegistryBackup
Does not save the registry backup it normally makes before applying tweaks. Not in the official docs.
-SkipExplorerRestart
Does not restart Explorer at the end. Taskbar, Start and File Explorer changes then show after you sign out or restart.
-LogPath folder
Where to save the log. By default it goes to the Logs folder next to the script.
-WhatIf
Dry run: prints every app, registry file and scheduled task it would change, and changes nothing. It also writes no log file, because the transcript obeys -WhatIf too; copy the window's text if you need a record. Not in the official docs. Our test of it.
-Verbose
Shows PowerShell's progress bars and extra detail. Waits for a key press before starting.
-Dev
One-liner only: downloads the newest unreleased code from the master branch instead of the latest release. For testing, not for everyday use.

Apps

-RemoveApps
Removes apps. Without -Apps it removes the 84 default apps.
-Apps "id1,id2"
Which apps -RemoveApps removes, as a comma-separated list of package names. Unknown names are skipped with a message. Build one with the app checker.
-RemoveGamingApps
Removes the Xbox app and both Xbox Game Bar packages (Microsoft.GamingApp, Microsoft.XboxGameOverlay, Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay).
-RemoveHPApps
Removes 20 preinstalled HP apps (packages starting with AD2F1837.).
-ForceRemoveEdge
Runs Edge's own uninstaller after preparing the registry. Leaves Edge WebView and the updater in place. The project marks this as not recommended.

Start menu layout

-ClearStart
Unpins everything from Start for your account. Windows 11 22H2 or later.
-ClearStartAllUsers
Unpins everything from Start for all existing and new accounts. Windows 11 22H2 or later.
-ReplaceStart path
Replaces your Start pins with a layout file you provide. Windows 11 22H2 or later.
-ReplaceStartAllUsers path
Same, for all existing and new accounts.

Accepted but unused

-DisableSearchHistory
Still accepted so old commands do not fail, but does nothing in 2026.08.24.
-DisableSearchHighlights
Still accepted so old commands do not fail, but does nothing in 2026.08.24.

Tweaks

One switch per tweak. Each applies only that tweak.

Questions

How do I run Win11Debloat silently?

Add -Silent and at least one thing to do, such as -RunDefaults. With -Silent it asks nothing, continues if the restore point fails, and closes when it is done.

Can I use these parameters with Run.bat?

No. Run.bat only starts the wizard. To pass parameters, use the one-liner or run Win11Debloat.ps1 from PowerShell.

Does the command line do anything the wizard cannot?

A few things: -WhatIf for a dry run, -SkipRegistryBackup, -LogPath, and -Sysprep without opening anything. The wizard has one thing the command line lacks: undoing a tweak by unticking it.

Why does my command open the text menu?

Because it includes -User, -Sysprep or -AppRemovalTarget but nothing else to do. Add -RunDefaults or the tweaks you want, and -Silent.

What happens if I mistype a switch?

PowerShell stops before anything runs, with an error that it cannot find a parameter by that name. App names in -Apps are different: an unknown name is skipped with Removal of app '…' is not supported and will be skipped, and the rest still run.
